Life is rearranging around me. People are coming into my life, and some I am asking to leave it. Choices are presenting themselves, and it’s time for me to make them. What’s this all about?

I’ve spent a good three years exploring my heart and soul regarding this songwriting thing, right here on these pages. The discipline of writing a monthly column, of finding a quote, digesting it and bringing forth my own interpretation of it’s meaning in my life, and sharing it with you, was one of the more beneficial activities I’ve engaged in. It brought me focus, persistence, discipline and it opened my heart to songwriting.

I took some time off this summer from writing Words to Write By. I felt the need for a rest. In that space of time, I began working with some wonderful cowriters, doors are opening for us to pitch our songs to labels, publishers and artists, and I am having the time of my life. I know that a lot of what is happening right now is because of the hard work that I’ve invested into it. And now, I’m putting down this pen, and picking up my songwriting where I left it off three years ago, when I realized that I had some work to do …
